Mario party 8 is a Board game and what you do is try to get the most stars to win. But getting the stars can be easy or hard. I'll tell you about it in the gameplay segment. Let's start the review.
Story: The story is in the Star Battle Arena. Your one of the 14 characters you can play as. Your trying to beat your challengers in all 5 boards. Then You get the grand prize, but Bowser stole the star rod. Then you have to face one of Bowser's minions in his board (the 6th board). Then after you beat his minion you face him in a boss battle and if you beat him you become the superstar.
Gameplay: The rules of the game is that you choose a character and 3 other CPU characters. then choose a one out of 6 boards, Then you see who rolls the dice first. Then you start with 10 coins to use. In the game you can buy candy with powers to help you. You get stars in different ways in each board. After all the players take one turn the players do a minigame and if you win you get 10 coins. There are 4 tents to go to. The Party Tent: Let's you play a regular game with friends or CPUs. The Star Battle Arena: Is the story mode. Minigame Tent: lets you play any of the minigames and Extras Zone: are minigame that are not in the main game (you can use your miis). After you finnish a game or minigame you get cards to get unlockables.
Graphics: It's a little worse than Mario Super Sluggers.
Music and sound: great.
Unlockables: In the fun bazzar you buy figures and new minigames. When you do the SBA you can get 2 new characters and the 6th stage.
Bad: hard SBA
Conclusion: There were more good stuff than bad stuff about the game. I will recomend it. this game gets a 9/10
